I've always been the person to get freaked out when someone elses kid tries to touch mine, comes two feet in front of them, or allowing my children to play on public playgrounds such as McDonald's. I'm a germaphobe and will never change. But I do realize my children NEED to be children. Allowing them to play is a big step for me. I sound crazy but it freaks me out. If your in need of Germ X, tissues, Purex, Lysol, Clorox or a big tub of wipes, your in luck. I always have that shit handy.
B, Miss H and I went out early Saturday morning to look at places before we sealed the deal with the one we did. She was starving and I forget that kids are nothing like us. We can starve all day and it won't bother us. So while I'm starving my child, she starts to get ill and can't wait til we get back home. What else is there but the good ol' MC E DEE'S. We stop, order breakfast and then let her play. The ceiling was leaking rusty water shit, the place was about to fall apart, the station was filthy and sticky. But she deserves to have fun and be a kid. And so she did. With her tired self.

I so hear you! I am always prepared with two bottles of sanitizer in my purse and wipes, I got it all! I have a huge Sam's club crowd control sanitizer in the car and immediately the kids have to put it on. The neighbor kids think I'm a freak because I am always having them wash their hands! Germ E Dees is hard to avoid. I still think they do a better job cleaning it then the Burger King play area, yuck!
Adorable picture!!!
I am going to have to let SO MUCH of that go when I become a parent.
I think the thing I would have the most problem with is my child sitting anywhere near a creepy clown. I HATE YOU, RONALD MCDONALD!! (fear)
McDonalds was just the best place to eat when I was a kid. :-) I'm sure she loved it.
She is sooo adorable. Love the Ronald picture!
I am so agreeing with you! I have been known to get all bothered and hot in meetings since they, so called child rights actvisits, introduced the 'child participate' concept. That ish does not sit well with me, me thinks we are giving children too much responsibility, they barely have time these days to be just kids. To just play,... have fun and be naughty.
That's totally understandable. When my little sis is all covered in dirt and what not I get grossed out when she comes near me but I forget - I used to be like that!x
I am also trying to be less of a germaphobe, but it is hard. I have spent a fortune on baby wipes that I constantly carry around. But I am getting better as Little Chick gets older. Hope all is well!

I wouldn't call myself a germaphobe per se. That being said, I do work in the ER and I see first hand the kind of shit our kids can pick up at this little bastard's (Ronald Mcdonald's) playground. I do carry a large bottle of hand sanitizer in my purse when we go to the Mcdonalds playground so I can bathe the babies in it afterwards. This probably makes me a certified germaphobe.
We have a nice play place here. On rainy days that last for days.. you can find us there or at the mall play place! Sometimes all we get are apple dunkers.. but I'm with you.. right afterward germ-x and bath time.. yuck!
Cute picture!! :)
I needed this. My Mom was just lecturing me the other day because I refuse to let the dude play in the mall play area. BUT ALL THE GERMS. Ah ha ha!
When my kids were little, there really wasn't a huge germ revolution going on. I'm so glad they survived w/out the wipes and gels and shit, because had I known, I'd be the same way.
Pray for my grandchildren.
