boots

about a month ago, i was digging through kohl's shoe department to find a pair of boots and since i like to hide things for another day,....{not because i haven't got enough money or anything but because i shop with my two very lovely wild and crazy children and sometimes we need to scoot before i go berserk} i hid this black pair that were low with zippers on the side somewhere in the mens shoes. went back days later to find that they DO clean their store up at the end of the day and browsed the women's section to find them staring right back at me. i said to myself i wasn't letting them get away this time. here's the thing. my kids are great kids. but i'm constantly shopping for them and i end up buying myself nothing. i always put it back or say i would just rather make them happy and let them buy things. but then they take it to a whole nother level. they can't wait patiently for me to finish what i'm looking for so i end up getting really peeved because the store is crammed in that department. mind you, i have to make sure no one steals my six year old because she is that cute and she could go for millions in another country,..but they fail to realize this and think they can head to their department, so guess what...i have to get up and go be by their side because nobody is making a couple dollars off this gorgeous face. and where is dad. dad is off yonder because men think they don't have to have the kids in stores. they get to wonder and if i tell him to take the kid,...he doesn't pay much attention so i worry and that doesn't make for a good shopping eve. he'd probably notice she was missing ten minutes later.

After I bought the black ones at kohls, m was doing her photo shoot and slipped down some stairs. she scuffed the top of my new boots. i didn't care much. i was just concerned if she was okay and she was. this is why you don't let almost 12 year old girls wear grown up ladies boots that slip. so much for doing a photo shoot myself in those boots. now i'm on the hunt for more. we went to the mall last weekend when we ran into the same problem. dad gets impatient waiting for me and the girls are trying on every pair of display shoes possible. dillards is packed. we stumble across uggs that m wants. i had not like them at all but was monkeying around with them and dillards had some pretty ones. i then wanted a pair.

but now spending 180 on a pair of boots seems ridiculous but they are comfy and since we both want some that would be 360 just on boots. oh and i bought some for sugar mama. so now we are at 540 plus tax over six hundred bucks on boots. that's just crazy. so i'm going to vs this weekend and going to see if they have cheaper boots i like. i could spend that much on a pair of boots or anything i wanted but it just seems so odd to me. does anyone else feel that way. i don't know...maybe it's a mom thing.

xoxo happy boot shopping

I could NEVER spend that much money on boots. I would feel so guilty! But I do love the boots! So cute.

It is so hard for me to spend that kind of money on myself. The hubs did get me a pair of cute boots from amazon.com for Christmas. They are adorable, short, and with a cute buckle on the side, but now I want more! haha. I want a pair of boots that have a long shaft, but the only problem is that God blessed me with ginormous calves so I have to look very hard for boots.

I think its a mom thing. You will spend all types of money on your kids and your hubs but when it comes to you, you just can't bring yourself to do it. Hence the reason I haven't gone and gotten a hair cut in a year..eek talk about split ends. I just trim it myself when I think of it. But as mom's we deserve to pamper ourselves...and you deserve to spend that type of money on yourself! Find a cheaper pair of boots for the kids because they will grow out of them soon enough. plus, kids don't take as great of care of things as most adults do.

I know that is totally easier said than done...because I am definitely the same way.

Love ya momma! I hope you are able to find that boot that you can't live without and for a great price!

boots are one of those things that always conflicts my soul! i love the looks and feel of a great pair of comfy ones, but that usually comes with a hefty price tag. soo...i wear moccasins with rubber bottoms/soles. minnetonka makes fabulous ones, and you can get them for a fraction of the price of uggs or other fancy boots!

you are super sylish anyway, though, so whatever you choose will look absolutely darling, no doubt about it! happy thursday!

I love Uggs but have never wanted to splurge on them cause my husband hates them. I get knock offs too. For the price I can have 3 colors instead of 1! I'm such a boot girl, I can't get enough!

Payless is my friend! I'm cheap, though. Have you looked online? You can actually find some good deals on shoes on Amazon, although I know it sucks not to be able to try them on. I've also bought shoes on eBay -- I only search for NEW shoes there...I don't want foot fungus in my life!

I struggle paying that much on boots too. I would desperatly love a pair of Uggs, but spending that much on an item would give my hubby convulsions! Seriously. I shop at forever21.com (great prices), and I shope at VS for their sales (sometimes you can get a steal!). I think it's a mama thing.

I so understand the dilemma but hey they need to realize that if mama isn't happy, no buddy is gonna be happy! Go buy your boots girl! I hate how so many young girls wear the Uggs but their moms wear the cheap ones! Don't let that be you :)!

Wow, that's sad when you even have to have the thought "someone can steal my 6-year-old". Isn't there any opportunities to go shopping for yourself alone without kids?

I feel ya on the shopping guilt thing. I bought myself a $130 flat iron two years ago and I'm still feeling guilty about it. (I know...GET OVER IT already, right? LOL! It works amazingly well compared to my cheapo that worked like crap and I use it all the time so I know it was worth it but I just really have a hard time buying myself things...) ANYWHO...the boots are super cute. I think this is the year I'm finally jumping on the boot bandwagon...if I can find some cheap ones. LOL!

That's hilarious that you hide them. I've tried to do that before too, but came back the same day. I say every once in a while, moms SHOULD get something for themselves. I don't think it's selfish at all. I probably would have been too selfish to let the 12 year old wear them though. (MINE MINE, ME ME ME! No TOUCHY!)

Wow! That's a lot for boots! But they are pretty cute...

Ahh I'd never spend that much for boots! The most I ever spent was $50 for Macy's ones last year because I had a gift card. But one of my other pairs was from Walmart (and actually cute!) for $15 and a fake grey suede ones from JCPenny's for $40. They get seem to get beat up more than other hoes so they only last 1-2 yrs usually so I wouldn't wanna spend more. Tell dad he needs to watch girls while u shop! haha. U will LOVE amaretto and milk!~ let me know :)

It has been about 5 years since I purchased a pair of boots that cost that much. And that was on sale. Knee high boots. Love them. But, they can't be worn all the time so they do not get much use, but I am sure I have gotten what I paid for them! These days sale shoes suit me just fine.

I have done the whole hide the item in the store routine, sometimes it worked, sometimes not. And I don't know what it is about guys that they think they don't have to pay attention to their kids at certain moments in time...my fiancé drifts off to la la land with his daughter quite often.

Uggs are the best thing ever invented!!!! I will not admit how many pairs I have. I even bought several of the weird colored ones. I'm wearing my light orange ones right now. I also have 2 pair that have the leather bottom for when the weather is a bit messy. I have several pairs of the slipper and a couple of the clogs. I was taken aback when I found some of the ones I have on clearance at TJMaxx. My 1st pair that hooked me was a pair of clogs that were new. I got them at Goodwill for $2. True story. BTW - Uggs are to be worn BAREFOOT!

I love me those purple boots, girl!! I also find it really foolish to spend that much on boots (& on myself in general, but I think I should spend more on me sometimes, ya know?) ...but, i do own a pair, so what can i say?! Lol!! I also own about 4 pair of knockoff uggs & i love them too:)!!

The funniest thing is that I was wearing Uggs 20+ years ago when people didn't know what they were and a lot that did called them "ugg-ly" boots (we were a surfer family)...now they're the rage! My mom swears they were $30 bucks back in the day or else she wouldn't have bought them for us. I do admit, I have a pair now...they've lasted me a couple of years though. XOXO

I love those boots...I love all boots. Yes, that is probably more than I could ever spend and live to wear them (hubby would kill me) but you are a hard working momma so I say good for you:-)

ACK! I just parted with $180 for those boots just yesterday afternoon. In my defense, Uggs are warm. I live in Maine (not entirely willingly by the way)and my old Uggs were 6 years old and busted. However, having kicked around in them for 6 years, I can testify that they were worth the dough. Happy New Year. I soooo relate to shopping with the beasties. :)

A couple months ago, I purchased a pair of Bearpaw boots from Shoe Carnival. They are basically JUST like the Uggs, but much cheaper. I paid $80 for mine. Plus, Shoe Carnival almost always has deals going on. I got mine for $10 off. Another similar brand is Emu. I know they sell those at Journey's.

I totally understand your dilemma! I love UGGS, but the price makes my brain hurt! :-) I settled for a pair of boots in the bargain cave at Cabela's that are similar, but slightly different and only paid a fraction of the cost of UGGS. Love them! I too do most of the shopping for my children, so don't always spend a lot of money on myself! I really need to start rethinking that. I wanna be a "cool" mom that my kids want to hang out with as they get older (well, at least with my daughter - I'm already not cool enough for my son!)

My shopping budget has seriously gone down hill since I had aidyn... but isnt it worth it?!
