This plant stands right beside where I sit at the dining room table with my laptop and cup of joe. I had just picked Hannah up, she took a quick shower and we were sitting at the table together. Out of the corner of my eye, I see something moving in the bushes and normally I would think it was my mind playing games with me or something because my eye sight is getting worse. But I know I saw something moving. Perhaps it was a big bug, I don't know---we live in FL; it could be anything creeeeeepy!!!
It was dark black and i frightenly move the branch thinking something is going to jump out at me. Nope. I search further desperate to find whatever was moving. Mind you, the branches are tight and I'm ripping this FAKE plant apart. Hannah's screaming, "There it is, Ahhhhhhh!" I'm scared the thing might be a SNAKE rather than a little bug! I have nightmares about anacondas creeping through our pipes and coming through our toilets most nights.
We end up seeing this little anolis lizard all blended in trying to hide from these psychos ripping his hiding space apart.
I could barely see him, so I'm the queen blogger/pretend photographer on the floor looking deep into this plant snapping photos with the flash on to detect this guy! Trust me, he wasn't easy to remove from this temporary space of his.
He was clinging on for dear life. We close all the doors to the bedrooms like this fella can't sneak through the cracks and rush to get M. Pick her up and text Bryan that he has to get the lizard out of the plant and he's texting back "Plant???" like we don't have plants in our house. Get home and Mackenzie wants to see it BUT he's escaped the plant and is really not in there. I was shaking it to get him out and seeing how the couch is right there, we figured they are smart and know when we leave, they will try to escape after figuring out the plant they are trying to eat isn't REAL and I tell the girls to look under the couch. Sure enough we move it and LOOK who's hiding:
He's scared shitless and way too quick to grab him by the hand, so we get 2 cups and trap his ass making his tail fall off and it's still moving on my bare floors....ew!
We kindly get him outside and release him :
With his cut off tail!
I always wondered what goes on in this house of ours when we're not home!

It is amazing how they can drop their tail if needed.
Bahaha yes. Don't worry, his tail will grow back. I actually think he's kinda cute. But yeah. He could stay outside and still be cute.
